Jessica's Story

Jessica truly loved her family and always enjoyed having family gatherings.  Jess was a hard worker and loved her work.  When she had free time, she enjoyed playing spades with her family.  On Sunday mornings, Jess attended New Life Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir.  She was very dedicated to her studies as well, and on Sunday evenings, you would find Jess with all of her school books studying and completing assignments.  When she would take a break from her studies, you could find her watching her favorite movie, “The Temptations.” Her favorite food was none other than boiled crawfish.  Her favorite song that she loved to sing was “Wind Beneath My Wings”.  On April 2nd, Jess would have celebrated a birthday with her family but sadly, she was taken away from her family too soon. Jess was scheduled to enter into her senior year at ULL in Lafayette.  Her major was in Accounting and she was studying to take the CPA exam.   Jess had plans to attend law school.  All of Jess’s dreams were shattered and taken away due to her untimely death caused by the actions of a driver under the influence of alcohol.  This individual made the decision to drive while intoxicated which resulted in the untimely death of Jess.
